Students enrolled in 3-year, 4-year, or Honours BSc programs across any department can opt for a Business Stream—a curated selection of core courses from the Faculty of Business and Economics designed to equip them with essential industry and business skills. Upon fulfilling both their BSc degree requirements and the specified core courses, students will receive a transcript notation indicating completion of a BSc with a Business stream. This initiative responds to the increasing need for science graduates to possess foundational business competencies. In Canada, businesses now play a vital role in scientific and technological advancement, spanning fundamental research to bringing innovative concepts to market. Collaborations among industry, academia, and government are consequently growing. The life sciences private sector, for instance, is rapidly expanding, encompassing fields from pharmaceutical development to environmental consulting. Additionally, science students aiming for professional schools (Medicine, Dentistry, etc.) will find value in this stream, as many will eventually manage their own practices—a scenario where business acumen proves invaluable.
