Our program trains students to meet national standards in environmental disciplines tied to natural resources, with special emphasis on oil sands and Alberta's industrial landscape. The curriculum covers diverse subjects such as biological sciences, chemical processes, ecosystem studies, earth sciences, environmental regulations, soil analysis techniques, GIS applications, aquatic systems, wildlife conservation, and land restoration for forestry, mining, and oil sands projects.
This program includes a summer internship, offering students practical regional work experience. Upon completion, graduates can immediately join the workforce or pursue further education by transferring into the third year of an Environmental Sciences degree at the University of Lethbridge. New cohorts for the Environmental Technology program start each September and January.
