The University of Winnipeg's Education program combines academic theory with hands-on classroom experience to equip future teachers for their careers. Education students explore diverse subjects including history, philosophy, biology, sociology, and psychology while also studying curriculum design and teaching methods. What sets this program apart are two key features: its specialized emphasis on urban inner-city education alongside standard teacher certification, and early practical experience in real classrooms with both educators and students.
Through the Integrated BEdBA, BSc, or BPHE options, students can pursue dual degrees simultaneously. This pathway enables those committed to teaching early in their academic journey to start Education coursework within their initial two university years. The 150-credit Integrated program typically spans five years, with most students beginning in their first year. The program also accommodates transfer students who have partially completed other Bachelor's degrees.

Be a high school graduate with at least 30 Manitoba high school credits, or hold a Mature Status Diploma and have completed courses required for Regular Status Entry
Have completed five credits at the Grade 12 level, designated A, S or G
Must present standing in EITHER two credits of English 40 (A or S level) plus one credit of Mathematics 40S (Pre-Calculus, Applied or Essential/Consumer) OR one credit of English 40 (A or S level) plus Pre-Calculus Mathematics 40S
Applicants to the Early, Early/Middle, and Middle Years streams will be required to take 6 credit hours of university level Math courses, and are strongly encouraged to complete Pre-Calculus or Applied Math 40S. Students who have completed Essential/Consumer Math will need to take some non-credit Math courses in university in order to meet the prerequisites for university level Math courses.
TOEFL - Achieve a minimum score of 86 with no less than 20 in each component. IELTS - IELTS Academic, Online & UKVI: Minimum overall score of 6.5. Cambridge Assessment English: C1 Advanced & C2 Proficiency - Minimum score 180.
