Our two-year Master of Science program provides research experiences that cultivate sophisticated laboratory and fieldwork abilities through the institute's interdisciplinary methods. Participants enroll in specialized courses and seminars that support their investigative projects.
The program culminates in defending a thesis and preparing work for academic publication.
The Great Lakes Institute for Environmental Research (GLIER) tackles intricate environmental challenges that cross traditional academic disciplines, including analyzing how multiple environmental pressures impact major lakes and their surrounding watersheds. Led by Director Dr. Robert Michael McKay, GLIER's team of ten faculty collaborates with auxiliary academic personnel, postdoctoral researchers, visiting scholars, graduate students, and support staff to pursue innovative cross-disciplinary research initiatives.
For admission to the M.Sc. program, applicants must hold an appropriate Honours Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) from a recognized university. Students must maintain no less than a 77% average in their final two years of undergraduate, full-time study to be eligible for admission into the M.Sc. program.
Minimum TOEFL: IBT-83; Minimum IELTS: 6.5; Minimum Pearson: 65.
