The Master of Science (MSc) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programs in Environmental Sciences are delivered by our School of Environmental Sciences (SES) with three specialization tracks: Earth and Atmospheric Science, Ecosystem Science and Biodiversity, and Plant and Environmental Health. Both degree programs equip students with advanced environmental science knowledge and specialized research competencies.
Graduates gain proficiency in laboratory and fieldwork methods, along with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
MSc degree holders acquire comprehensive training that enables success in scientific roles across government agencies, private sector organizations, and consulting firms, or prepares them for advanced doctoral research.
PhD candidates develop the expertise to assume leadership roles as academic researchers, industrial R&D managers, or senior scientists in governmental and societal organizations.
Career paths include: Laboratory technician, Research scientist, Wildlife biologist, Ecosystem specialist, Sustainability consultant, Environmental policy analyst
Applicants require an honours science four-year degree, with a minimum “B-” (Master’s) or A- (PhD) standing for the last four semesters completed prior to entry into the graduate program.
