The Adult Clinical track focuses on developing skills in clinical assessment and therapeutic interventions.
Students receive instruction in multiple therapeutic methods, such as psychodynamic techniques, cognitive-behavioural strategies, experiential approaches, emotion-focused therapy, and family systems therapy.
A significant portion of this training occurs on-site at the Psychological Services and Research Centre (PSRC), where students deliver clinical services to university community members under faculty guidance as part of their coursework.
Additionally, the program accepts five post-MA clinical students annually for extended half-time practicum placements.
The Psychology Department operates within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.
Undergraduate options include a General BA in Psychology or Child Psychology, as well as Honours BA programs (with or without thesis) in Psychology or Developmental Psychology.
The department collaborates with other disciplines to offer distinctive programs. These include a BSc in Behaviour, Cognition and Neuroscience with Biological Sciences, an Honours BA in Disability Studies with Social Work, and a concurrent Psychology BABEdECE program for aspiring educators through partnerships with Windsor's Education Faculty and St. Clair's ECE program. The department accommodates combined degree options and transfer students, including a specialized completion pathway for certain Child and Youth Care graduates.
