Concentrates on three key wireless and computer networking research domains: (1) Internet of Things (IoT), Machine-to-Machine (M2M) systems, Sensor Networks, and Ultra-Wide Band indoor positioning; (2) Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) connectivity for smart transportation; (3) Wireless/mobile networks and cybersecurity.

Creates energy-efficient, real-time protocols for mobile and wireless networks supporting smart systems, power grids, robotics, and industrial applications.

Cutting-edge WiCIP research initiatives receive funding from NSERC, FedDev, CFI, Canada's Communication Research Centre, and industry collaborators.

Facility features Network Analyzers, sensor network testbeds, DSRC systems, vector signal analyzers, and advanced wireless communication modules.

Expertise in network simulation using Omnet, NS23, and Matlab, including mobility modeling and network simulations.

Capable of rapid prototyping for network gateways, communication protocols, and wireless systems supporting up to 15,000 nodes, utilizing real-time OS and commercial hardware solutions.

Qualification Requirements

Graduates of recognized universities may apply for admission. In general, admission to graduate study is granted only to those students who have good academic records and who are adequately prepared to undertake graduate work in their field of specialization. In particular, an applicant for admission to a graduate program leading to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy must have either a Master's degree or, in exceptional cases, a four-year Bachelor's degree, or the equivalent; with a minimum average of 77% (or equivalent). Possession of the minimum requirements does not ensure admission. Transcripts, IBT-83 Minimum IELTS: 6.5.
