The University of Windsor's Environmental Studies program offers a comprehensive, interdisciplinary framework for examining humanity's relationship with natural, constructed, social, and institutional environments.
Our planet's environment encompasses all surrounding elements - both living and inanimate. This broad definition includes not just nature, but also human-created spaces, societal structures, and the dynamic connections between these systems.

Drawing from scientific, social scientific, humanistic, and artistic perspectives, the program examines intricate human-environment relationships while developing ethical, policy-oriented solutions to environmental challenges.

This unique Bachelor's program combines multiple academic fields to deliver an exceptional educational journey. Students explore the social, cultural, economic, political, legal, and ethical dimensions of environmental engagement while developing foundational knowledge in physical and biological sciences to comprehend natural ecological systems.

Qualification Requirements

Education equivalent to the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with six Grade 12 academic courses. Grades will be converted to Ontario equivalent grades.

Course Requirements: Grade 12 English required. Minimum Average: 70%.

English Language Proficiency Requirement: Minimum score of 6.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS); Minimum score of 60 on the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE); minimum overall score of 176 on the Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) or the Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE); minimum score of 85 on the English Proficiency Test administered by the English Language Institute of the University of Michigan (MELAB); minimum score of 220 with a T.W.E. 4.5 on the Computer-based Test, 83 with an essay score of 20 on the Internet-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL); minimum score of 60 on the Carleton University’s Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL).

Recommended application deadlines for UWindsor’s undergraduate programs are: May 1 for September admissions (Fall); Sept 1 for January admissions (Winter).
