Trent University offers outstanding Indigenous diploma programs designed for self-identifying First Nations, Métis, or Inuit students looking to transition into university-level education. Within a welcoming and inclusive setting, participants in the Indigenous Environmental Studies diploma program incorporate their rich cultural backgrounds, traditions, historical perspectives, and languages into their learning experience. Graduates of these diploma programs can further their education by pursuing a Bachelor's degree, with the option to transfer their earned credits. Most students successfully complete both their diploma and degree within four years.
This two-year diploma program is available to applicants who hold an Ontario Grade 12 equivalent or meet mature student criteria.
Upon fulfilling all program requirements, students receive their diploma. A Trent University transcript will document all completed courses and corresponding grades.
Diploma graduates may apply for entry into either the BA or BSc programs, with eligible credits counting toward General or Honours degrees.
Indigenous applicants interested in this or other university programs are encouraged to reach out to the Aboriginal enrolment advisor at the First Peoples House of Learning for personalized support during the admissions process.
