The University of Prince Edward Island's Bachelor of Environmental Studies program teaches students to identify environmental links across disciplines and examine contemporary ecological challenges. Through academic studies, fieldwork, and community engagement, you'll pioneer creative approaches to sustainability—creating meaningful change in your daily life, local community, and worldwide context. Since environmental problems transcend conventional academic categories, they demand multifaceted solutions incorporating scientific, technical, humanistic, and social viewpoints. This interdisciplinary liberal arts and science degree enables students to synthesize knowledge from Arts, Science, and Business faculties.
The Environmental Thought and Practice concentration delves into human values, perspectives, and convictions about nature, equipping students to address urgent ecological issues.

Successful completion of Grade 12 examinations in a University Preparatory Program with an overall average of at least 70% (75% for Quebec Secondary V students) in the following subjects:

any 3 other academic courses. Grade 12 math recommended.
Grade 12 Math is a prerequisite for some First-year Arts courses.
The language of instruction at the University of Prince Edward Island is English. All academically admissible applicants, regardless of their country of origin or citizenship status, are required to demonstrate proficiency in the English language prior to undertaking studies at the University of Prince Edward Island. Applicants without English proficiency test scores, or with scores below the minimum, may be admitted conditionally (NOT available to applicants seeking admission to Nursing, Radiography, Education or Doctor of Veterinary Medicine), and will be assessed by the EAP Coordinator upon arrival.
