The University of Windsor's BA General in Political Science is a three-year program allowing students to explore diverse subjects including Canadian governance, global affairs, political philosophy, and policy development.
Students can choose specialized courses examining political systems in Europe, the U.S., the Middle East, and developing nations.
Our curriculum exposes students to critical political, economic, social, and environmental challenges both domestically and internationally. The program features exceptional faculty mentorship, undergraduate research opportunities, and a fourth-year internship option. Our vibrant department hosts the Political Science Society and Model UN Club, while organizing yearly European study tours through our EU Study Abroad initiative.
Career Paths: Legal practice, municipal/provincial/federal government roles, civil service positions, policy evaluation specialists, corporate consultants, media relations professionals, news reporting, advanced academic studies, advocacy specialists, and policy research analysts

Minimum Average (Co-op): 80%; 70% minimum in English
Mean Average: 77%
English Language Proficiency Requirement: Minimum score of 6.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS); Minimum score of 60 on the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE); minimum overall score of 176 on the Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) or the Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE); minimum score of 85 on the English Proficiency Test administered by the English Language Institute of the University of Michigan (MELAB); minimum score of 220 with a T.W.E. 4.5 on the Computer-based Test, 83 with an essay score of 20 on the Internet-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL); minimum score of 60 on the Carleton University’s Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL).
