At the heart of the SERS community are graduate students and their research endeavors. Whether beginning your master's or doctoral studies, you'll become part of a vibrant, dedicated community. SERS currently enrolls approximately 120 graduate students across our Master of Environmental Studies (MES) and PhD programs focused on social and ecological sustainability. Our students consistently secure provincial and national research grants while earning recognition for their scholarly contributions. SERS faculty members are globally renowned researchers who participate in numerous local, national, and international sustainability initiatives. Upon completing your graduate studies, you'll join our extensive network of accomplished alumni making meaningful impacts in environmental and sustainability sectors across government, academia, civil society, and private industry. All admitted students in our MES-thesis and PhD programs receive guaranteed financial support through teaching or research assistantships, stipends, and additional scholarships for eligible candidates.
