The School of Planning stands as Canada's sole institution providing planning education at undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. While the Master of Planning (MPlan) program isn't included, all other academic offerings hold accreditation from the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP). The School equips students with essential skills and diverse viewpoints for thriving in professional planning careers. Learners are motivated to broaden their academic horizons across the University to maximize their individual intellectual growth. Waterloo's School of Planning uniquely integrates municipal, urban, and regional planning approaches. Its curriculum introduces students to multiple planning disciplines while fostering specialization in their preferred focus area. Through outstanding faculty, state-of-the-art facilities, and a cooperative learning environment, the School supports students in reaching their highest capabilities. The faculty consists of highly skilled practitioners and educators in Planning, including many CIP-certified professionals and internationally recognized researchers, enhancing the School's distinctive and varied academic community.
