The School of Planning stands as Canada's sole institution providing planning education at undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. While the Master of Planning (MPlan) program isn't included, all other academic offerings hold accreditation from the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP). The School equips students with essential skills and diverse viewpoints for thriving in professional planning careers. Learners are motivated to broaden their academic horizons across the University to maximize their individual intellectual growth. Waterloo's School of Planning uniquely integrates municipal, urban, and regional planning approaches. Its curriculum introduces students to multiple planning disciplines while fostering specialization in their preferred focus area. A four year honours bachelor degree (or equivalent), with a minimum overall average of 78%, from a recognized university, the undergraduate degree may be in planning or other fields relevant to planning including: architecture, biology, civil engineering, economics, forestry, geography, geology, landscape architecture, law, political science, sociology, or other resource disciplines or social sciences
