The University of Waterloo (UWaterloo) maintains a reputation as Canada's most innovative institution and regularly places within the nation's top three comprehensive universities. Located in Southern Ontario, approximately 100 km (60 miles) southwest of Toronto, UWaterloo resides in the dynamic tech hub of Kitchener-Waterloo, twin cities boasting a combined population nearing 300,000. The Psychology Department comprises 42 faculty members, evenly distributed across six key research domains: Clinical, Cognitive, Cognitive Neuroscience, Developmental, Industrial-Organizational, and Social. More than 800 undergraduates are enrolled in the Psychology Bachelor's program, with an additional 400 pursuing a Psychology Minor. Supported by substantial funding from Canada's tri-council agencies—NSERC, SSHRC, and CIHR—along with international grants, the department's laboratories feature cutting-edge technology such as eye-tracking systems, ERP equipment, and virtual reality facilities. Waterloo's Psychology program consistently ranks among Canada's top five psychology departments.
