The School of Planning stands as Canada's sole institution providing planning education across undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. While the Master of Planning (MPlan) program isn't CIP-accredited, all other programs hold recognition from the Canadian Institute of Planners. Our curriculum equips students with essential skills and diverse perspectives for thriving in professional planning careers. Waterloo's School of Planning uniquely integrates municipal, urban, and regional planning approaches. A four-year honours bachelor degree (or equivalent), with a minimum overall average of 78%, from a recognized university, the undergraduate degree may be in planning or other fields relevant to planning including: architecture, biology, civil engineering, economics, forestry, geography, geology, landscape architecture, law, political science, sociology, or other resource disciplines or social sciences
