Quantum technology has evolved into both a fundamental scientific discipline and a foundation for revolutionary advancements in computing, telecommunications, measurement systems, and manufacturing. Waterloo's collaborative network, including six departments and the Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC), provides exceptional research and graduate study opportunities in this field. Key research focuses encompass quantum light technologies, optical computing systems, nanoscale quantum processors, superconducting circuits, quantum electrodynamics, spin-based electronics, secure quantum networks, cryptographic systems, theoretical quantum information, computational algorithms, and error-resistant quantum computing.
