The Literature and Rhetoric program combines the complementary strengths of UWaterloo's English Department. This structured curriculum offers training in both fields while allowing flexibility to pursue personal interests. Students engage with British, Canadian, American, and Postcolonial literary traditions alongside literary theory. The rhetoric and professional writing component covers rhetorical history and theory, professional communication, information design, and digital media. The honors RMPC degree offers multiple pathways tailored to individual aspirations: Students may choose between regular or co-op study formats. The program can be pursued as a standalone honors degree, joint honors, or as part of an Honours Arts and Business degree. Additionally, students may pair their honors degree with specializations in creative writing, digital media studies, global literatures, or technical writing.
