The Three-Year General degree program offers a structured curriculum to establish your foundation in English studies. This three-year option allows you to specialize in one of our four majors: Literature, Rhetoric, Media and Professional Communication, Literature and Rhetoric, or Creative and Professional Writing.
Throughout your coursework, you'll engage with diverse literary traditions spanning different nations and historical periods, encompassing British, postcolonial, Canadian, and American works, while also exploring subjects like rhetoric, digital media studies, professional writing, information design, and more.
English Language and Literature courses will deepen your understanding of global cultures, human nature, compelling ideas and debates, and the relationship between contemporary society and historical contexts. You'll complete your studies with both comprehensive knowledge and specialized expertise.
Gain practical experience with emerging digital technologies through laboratory-based learning. This specialization covers subjects such as Information Design, Visual Rhetoric, Digital Image Creation, Hypertext Development, and Media History and Theory.
