This Master of Arts program focuses on educational research for students exploring various disciplines within the department.
As a thesis-driven degree, it requires independent research. You'll collaborate with faculty advisors to create a personalized study plan that results in significant scholarly contributions to education.
Program participants will:
gain comprehensive knowledge of educational research methods, critically analyze academic studies, connect theoretical frameworks with research approaches, and apply ethical research standards
specialize in a chosen field while conducting investigations and presenting findings to various audiences through multiple formats
The Department of Curriculum & Instruction provides both Master's and Doctoral programs. These include full-time and part-time options, available on-campus and in community settings. With 28 faculty members, the department offers exceptional research assistant positions and teaching experiences with leading academics.
Our MA and PhD programs emphasize educational research, with coursework designed to establish core knowledge before specialization. Due to limited advisor availability, prospective students should consult the Graduate Advisor or Secretary about potential supervisors. Faculty webpages detail their specific expertise and research focuses.
