This research-intensive program offers the opportunity to explore art and visual culture alongside leading experts. Become part of our dynamic network of students, faculty, and arts professionals as you engage in groundbreaking studies spanning from ancient archaeological discoveries to modern video game design. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on learning through seminars, workshops, and public exhibitions. You'll have the chance to design and execute your own specialized research project.
Program participants will:
enhance and broaden their skills in art historical methods, particularly visual and formal analysis
communicate ideas clearly and persuasively using specialized terminology and theoretical approaches relevant to art history and visual studies
pursue independent research projects involving the examination and interpretation of visual and material culture
refine written and oral presentations based on feedback from advisory committees, seminar discussions, and academic conferences
explore and articulate the complex relationships between cultural/historical contexts and artistic/visual expressions
