The Master of Teaching (MT) program delivers a distinctive learning experience, blending teacher certification with in-depth exploration of educational principles and research opportunities. Participants gain comprehensive knowledge in curriculum design, human development, ethical and legal aspects of education, equity and inclusion practices, Indigenous education approaches, educational technology integration, lesson planning strategies, instructional methodologies, and learning theories. The program features three hands-on teaching placements where students refine their teaching abilities while applying theoretical concepts learned during coursework.
This two-year full-time graduate program culminates in a Master of Teaching degree. Graduates who successfully complete the requirements become eligible for recommendation to the Ontario College of Teachers, receiving certification to teach in Ontario's Primary/Junior (P/J), Junior/Intermediate (J/I), or Intermediate/Senior (I/S) school divisions.
