The Ecology and Evolutionary Biology graduate program offers Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. These interconnected fields provide diverse approaches to understanding biological systems. Faculty and students conduct both independent and joint research spanning these disciplines, frequently integrating insights across various organizational levels. Research specialties encompass anatomy/physiology, animal behavior, behavioral genetics, bioinformatics, ecological studies at multiple scales, conservation science, developmental biology, genetic/genomic research, microbiology, molecular evolution, plant sciences, taxonomy/systematics, and theoretical biology.
Most students complete the program within 16-24 months, with financial support assured for the initial 16 months. High-achieving MSc candidates showing exceptional research progress may transition to the PhD program after their first year.
