The Graduate Department of Public Health Sciences within the Dalla Lana School of Public Health provides both full-time and part-time graduate degree options. Prospective students should ideally possess foundational knowledge in statistics and quantitative methods, with relevant work experience also being considered. The Master of Public Health (MPH) program caters to those pursuing professional or research-oriented careers across community, academic, government, or private settings, while the Master of Science (MSc) focuses on research and academic pathways in Biostatistics.
Public Health Sciences (PHS) provides diverse opportunities for both newcomers to public health and experienced professionals seeking to expand their knowledge. With over 800 graduate students enrolled, our doctoral and master's programs cover numerous specializations at one of the globe's top public health institutions.
The MPH degree specializing in Nutrition and Dietetics enables students to build specialized skills in dietary practice across healthcare and food systems, spanning from preventive care to end-of-life support.
This Nutrition and Dietetics program is delivered through the Division of Clinical Public Health at the Dalla Lana School, managed collaboratively by the Graduate Department of Public Health Sciences, the Department of Nutritional Sciences, University Health Network, and Compass Group Canada. The 20-month dietetics curriculum holds accreditation from the Partnership for Dietetic Education and Practice (PDEP), qualifying graduates for provincial dietetics registration in Canada. Upon completion, students must fulfill all MPH requirements while also completing 1,250 hours of practical training and demonstrating proficiency in all Integrated Competencies for Dietetic Education and Practice (ICDEP) standards.
