The Edward S. Rogers Sr. Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering maintains its position as Canada's premier institution in this field and ranks within the global top 15 according to numerous academic rankings. Our faculty boasts 39 IEEE Fellows, 6 Optical Society Fellows, 10 Royal Society of Canada Fellows, and 18 Canadian Academy of Engineering Fellows. In 2020, ECE accounted for over 40% of all University of Toronto Engineering invention disclosures while securing 142 patents. Through partnerships with leading companies like Google, Fujitsu, Ericsson, and LG, our students actively participate in the department's legacy of innovative breakthroughs, patent developments, and successful startups.
The MEng program offers a coursework-focused graduate degree designed to equip students with specialized skills for the modern digital economy.
