The Master of Science (MSc) in Electrical and Computer Engineering combines academic studies with a faculty-supervised research component. This advanced degree often accelerates professional advancement for graduates, while serving as a stepping stone to doctoral studies for others. The Master of Engineering (MEng) represents a final professional degree blending coursework with a practical engineering project, though it doesn't qualify graduates for PhD programs.
Our department provides both MSc and MEng programs through a combination of academic instruction and research opportunities. MEng candidates are required to finish at least 24 credit hours of coursework, with a minimum of 9 credits at the 7000-level from our department, plus complete an approved engineering project and proposal. This project should demand effort comparable to 6 credit hours of coursework.
