The Master of Education in Curriculum & Pedagogy (C&P) program offers a structured platform for analyzing curriculum through a comprehensive lens, encompassing both formal and informal learning environments. Students critically explore content (subjects, courses, academic programs), objectives, and instructional methods that facilitate learning.
Participants in the C&P program must complete ten half-courses, available for full-time or part-time study. Additional courses may be necessary based on prior background and qualifications. With faculty expertise spanning diverse research areas, the program features six optional specializations. Degree requirements must be fulfilled within three years for full-time students and six years for part-time enrollment.
Human beings universally seek fulfillment through wellbeing, creative expression, community, and meaning in life. The Wellbeing specialization serves as a foundational element connecting all other focus areas. This approach imagines a future where people achieve their highest capabilities while fostering mutual care and environmental stewardship. While humans possess multifaceted capacities for growth, most education systems disproportionately emphasize cognitive development, creating significant global challenges. Yet abundant innovative solutions remain untapped. The Wellbeing specialization's core principle involves nurturing complete intelligence—integrating mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual dimensions. The urgency for collective action grows daily. As global educators, we maintain that solutions to our most persistent issues lie in realizing our full human capacity through social justice initiatives. Lasting progress requires engaging our complete awareness. Together with the OISE community, this specialization aims to thoughtfully construct a more equitable and resilient future for coming generations.
