The Centre for Medieval Studies delivers interdisciplinary programs focused on the medieval era, offering both Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. Students are encouraged to transcend conventional academic boundaries, with particular emphasis on exploring overlooked intersections between traditional disciplines. The center equips students with foundational skills and methodologies to interpret medieval sources critically and creatively. Prior to enrollment, all students must enhance their Latin proficiency, as Medieval Latin is mandatory for all degree programs. Placement exams in Medieval Latin are administered at the start of the Fall term and the conclusion of the Spring term. New students must complete the Level One Latin assessment during initial Fall registration. Typically, the MA program at the Centre for Medieval Studies spans one academic year.
