The Faculty of Music provides two undergraduate programs: the Bachelor of Music (Mus.Bac.) and the Bachelor of Music in Performance (Mus.Bac.Perf.). Performance degree students start their specialized training immediately in their first year. For the standard Bachelor of Music program, except those in Music Education (Classical & Jazz), Composition, or Comprehensive Studies-Jazz, students undergo a Common Year. This foundational year focuses on core curriculum while allowing exploration of potential specializations in History, Culture & Theory or Comprehensive Studies. Those interested in Music Education (Classical) or Composition may choose to delay their specialization until Year 2 after completing the Common Year. All students must fulfill fundamental music requirements (Basic Music courses) covering essential subjects in history, theory, and performance. These mandatory courses establish a shared academic foundation for all music students.
