For those seeking a program combining studio instruction and ensemble performance, consider applying to the Bachelor of Music degree.
All first-year Bachelor of Music students take foundational courses covering Music Theory, Music History, and Music Skills (including Sight-singing, Ear-training, and Keyboard Harmony). The curriculum also includes a half-course in either music composition, teaching & learning, or popular music & culture, along with one music/non-music elective and another elective outside the Don Wright Faculty of Music. Students receive weekly one-hour private lessons, participate in masterclasses, and gain ensemble performance experience.
Bachelor of Music (Honours) students typically choose their specialization near the end of first year after evaluating their skills and interests. Alternatively, students may opt to continue in the general Bachelor of Music program without declaring a specific focus area.
