Graduate students pursue their research projects under faculty guidance across four specialized research domains. Our research initiatives and lab facilities benefit from the expertise of four technologists, along with support from the Engineering Computer Center team. The department maintains strong collaborations with various campus units such as Engineering Physics and Biomedical Engineering. With a team of 19 faculty members and six technical/administrative personnel, the department includes three distinguished chair holders: Safa Kasap (Centennial Enhancement Chair in Photonics), Brian Berscheid (Barbhold Chair in Information Technology), and Xiaodong Liang (Canada Research Chair in Technology Solutions for Energy Security in Remote, Northern, and Indigenous Communities).
A four-year undergraduate degree, or equivalent, from a recognized college or university in an academic discipline relevant to the proposed field of study, or,
A three-year first cycle undergraduate degree, in an academic discipline relevant to the proposed field of study, from an institution that meets the criteria set forth in the Bologna Declaration, will be acceptable as the equivalent of an undergraduate honours degree.
A cumulative weighted average of at least 70% (USask grade system equivalent) in the last two years of full-time study (e.g. 60 credit units USask equivalent).
Demonstrated ability for independent thought, advanced study, and research.
