The Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences offers education, research initiatives, and specialized knowledge in veterinary care for companion animals, covering areas such as medical treatment, surgical procedures, reproductive health, and specialized fields like eye care, cancer treatment, dental care, and exotic animal medicine.
Our department maintains a robust research program focused on domestic pets and wild animals. Research areas encompass canine eye disorders, advanced imaging techniques, exercise-related conditions in Labrador Retrievers, autoimmune diseases, bone and joint surgeries, pain management, surgical interventions, and dietary science.
A Master's degree, or equivalent, from a recognized university in an academic discipline relevant to the proposed field of study.
A cumulative weighted average of at least 70% (USask grade system equivalent) in the Master's degree.
Demonstrated ability for independent thought, advanced study, and research.
