Mechanical engineers specialize in understanding motion and mechanisms, viewing the world as interconnected moving components. They engage in research, design, and innovation across scales - from enormous power generation systems to minuscule biomedical instruments.
USask has transformed its first-year engineering program to enhance student success and enjoyment, creating Canada's unique RE-ENGINEERED curriculum. This groundbreaking approach sparks enthusiasm and motivation for engineering studies.
The RE-ENGINEERED program replaces stressful final exams with continuous assessments and quizzes, allowing for academic improvement throughout the term. Scheduled daily support sessions provide timely assistance, while practical courses replace traditional exams with immersive engineering exploration.
Students select their engineering specialization (major/discipline) after completing first year, determining their focused area of study for advanced coursework in subsequent years.
