This program offers an interdisciplinary examination of Indigenous communities, traditions, and wisdom systems. It welcomes both Indigenous and non-Indigenous learners, delving into the historical and contemporary experiences of Indigenous peoples across Saskatchewan, Canada, North America, and globally. The curriculum blends Elder-led traditional instruction with Indigenous viewpoints and subject matter. Courses in Indigenous studies particularly enhance analytical abilities, communication skills (both written and verbal), and research methodology training.
Professional Pathways
Alumni pursue careers as administrators, community development specialists, public sector employees, human rights activists, legal advocates, historical researchers, policy influencers, conflict resolution specialists, and elected officials.
