The program provides an extensive selection of language courses spanning all proficiency levels, covering translation theory and practice, Italian regional studies, and language teaching methodologies. Students can explore Italian literature, culture, cinema, art, and architecture, with certain courses available in English for non-majors. You'll study renowned figures like Dante, Petrarch, Machiavelli, Pirandello, Eco, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, De Sica, Fellini, and Bertolucci. Small advanced classes and cutting-edge multimedia facilities create an exceptional, tailored learning environment. Alongside Italian-taught courses, the Department provides English-language options (marked SCLC) that may count toward an Italian degree.
