The Faculty of Health Sciences' Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology Program provides graduate-level education culminating in a Master of Health Sciences (MSc) degree, specializing in either Audiology or Speech-Language Pathology. This program delivers focused instruction in communication disorders, preparing skilled healthcare practitioners to serve Ontario's Francophone communities as well as French-speaking populations across Canada's diverse bilingual landscape.
Students can choose between two specialized tracks within the program: audiology or speech-language pathology.
The speech-language pathology concentration educates professionals in typical communication development while equipping them to diagnose and address speech, language, and swallowing disorders. These specialists practice in diverse environments including medical facilities, educational institutions, and therapeutic centers, serving clients across all age groups. Their responsibilities encompass diagnostic evaluations, therapeutic interventions, patient counseling, care coordination, professional consultation, research initiatives, academic instruction, and program management.
The program's academic framework adheres to the rigorous accreditation standards set by the Council for Accreditation of Canadian University Programs in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CACUP-ASLP).
With competitive enrollment, this intensive two-year (24-month) program requires full-time commitment across six consecutive terms, incorporating clinical rotations in various healthcare, educational, and private practice settings.
