The School of International Development and Global Studies (SIDGS) provides multidisciplinary graduate programs, including a Master of Arts (MA) in International Development and Globalization and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in International Development.
This master's degree is delivered jointly with the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Law (covering both common law and civil law), and the Faculty of Social Sciences, featuring an optional co-op component.
SIDGS's interdisciplinary MA curriculum introduces students to diverse perspectives on development theory, policy implementation, and practical applications, while allowing focus in one of four specialized areas: Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding; Economic Growth and Social Equity; Sustainable Resource Management; and Human Rights Advocacy. Participants gain practical experience through Co-op placements and global internships, alongside opportunities to connect with policy experts and NGOs in the nation's capital.
Core program courses are available annually in both English and French. Elective courses may be taught in either language; prospective students should confirm language offerings with the respective academic department.
