The Institute of Feminist and Gender Studies provides graduate programs including a master's degree, doctoral studies, and a collaborative master's program in Feminist and Gender Studies.
The MA program focuses on cultivating thorough, diverse knowledge of feminist theories and methodologies. It enhances research skills for academic or community settings through guided thesis or research paper development.
The PhD program primarily trains students for academic careers while also equipping them with expertise in feminist theory and transnational analysis. Graduates will demonstrate ability to address pressing global and local issues while advancing feminist scholarship.
Both full-time and part-time study options are available, with courses taught in English and French. Following university policy, students may complete all written work in either official language, though developing proficiency in both languages is encouraged.

Qualification Requirements
Students holding an honours bachelor's degree with a specialization or major or equivalent from an accredited university in social sciences, health sciences, arts, education or law, with a minimum average of 70% (B), calculated in accordance with graduate studies guidelines, and who have had an adequate background in Feminist and Gender Studies (minimum of two undergraduate level courses or one Master's level course on women, gender, feminism, sexualities), are eligible for admission to the MA program. Students who do not have an adequate background may be eligible to our Special Policy for Admissions.
