Chemistry is a contemporary, vibrant, and multifaceted discipline that explores the composition of matter and its transformations. This science influences nearly every aspect of our daily lives and intersects with numerous scientific and technological fields. Chemists contribute significantly to pharmaceutical breakthroughs, biological research, and cutting-edge material development for electronics. Their expertise extends to genetic research, crime scene analysis, and petroleum industries. In recent years, chemists have pioneered advancements in nanotechnology and eco-friendly innovations, especially in renewable energy solutions.
The Chemistry and Biomolecular Sciences Department within the Faculty of Science provides specialized programs in chemistry, biochemistry, and biopharmaceutical sciences, featuring distinctive concentrations in drug development, genetic studies, innovative materials, environmental chemistry, and biological chemistry. Beyond theoretical learning, these programs emphasize hands-on laboratory experience with personalized guidance.

Qualification Requirements

You must have an Ontario high school diploma with at least six 4U-4M or DU-level courses to be eligible for admission to the first year of university. Please note:

All the courses that are prerequisites for your chosen program must be 4U-level courses, unless otherwise indicated.
We use your top six interim or final grades in 4U, 4M, or DU courses, including the prerequisites for your chosen program, to calculate your admission average. We do not round up your grades.

International baccalaureate diploma
Applicants enrolled in the International Baccalaureatenorth_eastexternal link Diploma program are eligible for admission if they have completed (or are in the process of completing) the full IB program and meet the following conditions:
Have passed six subjects (including the prerequisites for your program of choice) with at least three at the Standard Level and three at the Higher Level.
Have a minimum average of 29 points. The minimum average might be higher depending on the program you have chosen.

IELTS - overall score 6.5 with minimum writing section score 6.5
TOEFL - IBT - Overall Score 86 with writing section score 22.
