Develop comprehensive expertise in chemistry and apply it to address environmental challenges. Upon graduation, you'll be equipped to analyze chemical processes in nature, evaluate environmental risks from contaminants, and conduct assessments using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
Our specialized curriculum includes an optional co-op component offering 12 months of paid professional experience, helping you build industry networks before completing your studies. The first year establishes core principles across multiple scientific fields, including biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, and environmental science. You'll then build essential chemistry skills while taking focused environmental chemistry courses. In your final year, you'll contribute to scientific advancement through an independent research project. This program blends theoretical understanding with hands-on laboratory training, while allowing you to pair your studies with other majors or minors. You'll explore key chemistry disciplines with particular focus on analytical, environmental, inorganic, and organic chemistry, while establishing a solid grounding in environmental sciences.
Our program holds accreditation from the Chemical Institute of Canada, acknowledging the significant laboratory components and diverse experiential learning options we provide students.
