Journalism has experienced significant changes in recent years. The field now operates through digital platforms, creating fresh approaches, revenue strategies, and professional standards. Key competencies for modern journalism encompass data analysis, constructive reporting, and digital communication tactics. Contemporary journalists must adapt to varied responsibilities, demanding both awareness of evolving societal shifts and niche technical knowledge.
Enroll in the Honours bachelor's program at the University and, after finishing 60 credits (four semesters), transition to Algonquin College (English track) or La Cité college (French track) to finalize the journalism diploma. Due to capacity constraints at Algonquin and La Cité, the University can accommodate only 25 students per stream. Furthermore, after completing 60 credits at the University of Ottawa, you'll need a minimum cumulative GPA of 6.010 (70%) for admission to Algonquin College or La Cité.
