The Master of Science in Health Science program adopts a dual focus on individual learners and community needs. This graduate degree enhances students' ability to advance their research goals while preparing emerging scholars to address modern health issues, particularly those affecting northern, rural, isolated, and Indigenous populations. Through its interdisciplinary nature, the program enables participants to investigate health topics in evolving systems while leveraging the varied research capabilities within UNBC's School of Health Sciences and wider university community.
Learners engage with research methodologies aligned with their academic passions, drawing from diverse expertise areas including (but not restricted to) biomedical studies, population health analysis, community wellness strategies, and ecological health perspectives. Participants gain additional advantages through collaborative research initiatives that extend beyond campus boundaries, offering hands-on experience in practical, community-focused studies while learning alongside various partner organizations.
