The UNB Sociology Graduate Program provides intensive research-based degrees for both full-time and part-time students, preparing them for leadership roles across private, public, and nonprofit sectors.

Our Master of Arts (MA) and Doctoral (PhD) programs focus on cultivating robust social research skills (including qualitative and quantitative approaches), mastery of research methodology, and theoretical foundations in social theory.

The MA program strengthens students' abilities to conduct social research through project development, analytical thinking, fieldwork, professional communication, and sophisticated data interpretation—skills that translate to diverse career opportunities.

The PhD program enables students to expand their graduate-level expertise through advanced research. With dedicated mentorship, PhD candidates refine their specialized knowledge and methodological skills to become authorities in their chosen fields. Alumni have secured roles in government agencies, corporate organizations, nonprofit institutions, and university faculty positions.
