The Sociology PhD program aims to cultivate scholars who possess comprehensive understanding of the field while developing expertise in specific areas. Alongside the outlined program requirements, participants must fulfill Professional Development obligations. This intensive program requires full-time commitment. Typically, students finish their 500- and 600-level graded courses during the initial two terms, followed by two years dedicated to completing their Specialization and Candidacy Exams. Upon passing the Candidacy Exam, candidates advance to the final research phase, which generally takes two years to complete their thesis and associated academic work.
