Our graduate program enables students to participate in cutting-edge research, development, and the creation of diverse mechanical systems. The University of New Brunswick's mechanical engineering curriculum provides engaging specialization areas such as: biomedical engineering, instrumentation and control, manufacturing engineering, materials science and processing, and mechatronics.
Learners can utilize multiple laboratory facilities, with departmental connections to leading research organizations including: the Nanocomposites and Mechanics (NCM) Laboratory (home to Canada's Cold Spray Research and Innovation Initiative), the pioneering Marine Additive Manufacturing Centre of Excellence (Canada's first research facility employing 3D metal printing for certified marine components), the Advanced Manufacturing Lab (specializing in precision machining and materials analysis), Robotics and Mechanisms Laboratory, Bioenergy and Bioproducts Research Lab, and the Institute of Biomedical Engineering
Duration: Maximum 24 months (MEng), 2 years (MScE), 4 years (PhD)

The requirements for entrance into the PhD program are a Master's degree from a recognized university, or the equivalent.
International Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to submit language scores. Minimum TOEFL score of 550, and a TWE score of 4.0 (computer based scores would be 213 and 4.0 or greater and Internet score of 92, writing and speaking minimum 25). IELTS (minimum score of band 7); MELAB (minimum score of 85); or CanTest (minimum score of band 4.5).
