Gain essential expertise for medical research through the Pharmacology and Therapeutics (MSc) program. Our Department provides a comprehensive master's curriculum featuring both academic coursework and laboratory research, with particular focus on enhancing students' verbal communication and presentation abilities.
At the University of Manitoba's Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, we offer both M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs that combine classroom learning with hands-on laboratory research. Beyond equipping students with vital medical research capabilities, we prioritize strengthening their public speaking and presentation competencies. First-year students receive guaranteed financial assistance, with encouragement to secure independent funding for following years. Our students have successfully obtained grants from governmental bodies including CIHR, NSERC, and MHRC, as well as private institutions like the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba, Canadian Diabetes Association, and various Heart and Stroke Foundations. The thesis-based M.Sc. program blends academic study with research components, typically completed within two years.
