The Master of Human Rights (MHR) is an interdisciplinary degree program that equips students with both practical skills and academic knowledge for professional roles in human rights. This initiative partners with several University of Manitoba faculties such as Arts, Education, and Social Work.
In September 2019, the University of Manitoba introduced Canada's first Master of Human Rights (MHR) program, designed to train future human rights advocates. This collaborative effort involves the faculties of Arts, Law, Education, and Social Work, along with partnerships with the Centre for Human Rights Research, the Arthur V. Mauro Institute for Peace and Justice at St. Paul's College, and the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation.
