For more than five decades, the Department of French, Spanish and Italian has provided Master's and Doctoral programs in French. Currently, French is regularly spoken with fluency by more than 100 million individuals globally. Approximately 300 million people worldwide possess some proficiency in French communication. The language extends beyond Canada and France, reaching across Europe, the Americas, Africa, Asia, and the Pacific region. French serves as the medium for one of the world's most significant literary traditions.
