Developmental psychology is an interdisciplinary field focused on exploring human growth and transformation throughout the lifespan. It connects multiple domains of study, including cognitive science, language studies, social behavior research, brain science, and wellness psychology. Our faculty investigate a broad spectrum of subjects involving both atypical and typical developmental trajectories, such as the emergence of linguistic abilities, contextual influences on growth patterns, and cultural variations in childhood development.
Our research incorporates varied approaches, from laboratory assessments of infant perception to observational studies of children's play behaviors, physiological monitoring of brain and heart activity in families, biological markers of stress and immune responses, questionnaire studies, and naturalistic recordings of children's daily interactions. Program alumni pursue diverse professional paths in education, public policy, corporate settings, and academia. Prospective graduate applicants should contact faculty members directly to inquire about potential openings in upcoming enrollment periods.
