The Department of Psychology consists of around 30 faculty members and 60 graduate students. Faculty members maintain dynamic research initiatives across various psychological disciplines, often involving community volunteers. Psychology also participates in the interdisciplinary Cognitive and Behavioural Ecology (CABE) program, which provides both M.Sc. and Ph.D. degree options. Prospective students must submit applications directly to the CABE program.

The Cognition research team specializes in human memory, metamemory, and attention studies. Dr. Fawcett leads the NeuroFog Lab, employing diverse methodologies to explore the neurocognitive foundations of human memory. While his primary research examines mechanisms behind forgetting unwanted memories, he has also investigated eyewitness memory and seeks to connect cognitive and clinical research domains.
