The Department of Psychology consists of around 30 faculty members and 60 graduate students. Our faculty lead dynamic research initiatives across various psychological fields, often involving community volunteers. Psychology also participates in the interdisciplinary Cognitive and Behavioural Ecology (CABE) program, providing both M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees. Prospective students must submit applications directly to the CABE program.
Faculty in the Health and Wellness program specialize in health psychology research. Current investigations cover: eating disorders and weight management; psychological influences on medical conditions; managing chronic illnesses; modifying health behaviors; chronic pain management; addiction studies; sleep health; psychological aspects of cancer; early-stage psychosis; and wellness promotion.
PhD Program – This four-year, full-time program includes coursework, comprehensive examinations, and thesis work. Research specializations available include behavioral neuroscience, cognitive processes, clinical psychology, developmental studies, or social psychology.
